Storage units in Edmonton: prices and rent increases
Prices last checked: October 21, 2026. These are advertised online rates for new renters, read from each facility's own website. They change often, sometimes daily, so always confirm with the facility before you book.
The big thing to watch in Edmonton is the gap between the intro price and the regular price. Several facilities advertise a discount for the first few months, and your rent goes up to the regular rate after that. Below we show both when the facility publishes both.

What that means: on the cheapest 10x10 here, your rent doubles from $140 to $280 in month five. That's the advertised regular rate, not an increase notice, but budget for it from day one.

Only these sizes were shown as available when we checked. The 12-month lock is useful if rent increases are your main worry, but ask what happens in month 13.

Not verified: these rates are far below the other facilities on this page, which usually means a limited-time online promo. We couldn't confirm the regular rate after the promo, or StorageMart's rent-increase policy. Ask for both in writing before you sign.

Edmonton tips
- Compare the month-five price, not the first-month price. A 50% intro discount can make a pricier unit look cheap.
- Heated or climate controlled matters here. Edmonton winters regularly drop well below freezing. Pay for it for wood furniture, electronics, instruments, paper and photos.
- Ask for a price lock. Some facilities, like the U-Haul above, advertise one. If a facility doesn't, ask how often existing tenants' rent has gone up in the last two years.

A cheaper alternative to a facility
Peer-to-peer storage lets you rent a garage, basement or parking spot from a neighbour. Neighbor.com says its listings are priced 40-50% below traditional facilities (Bisnow). We haven't verified Edmonton prices on Neighbor yet.
